Jersey City Man With Dementia Has Been Missing For A Month: Police (patch.com) — Jersey City residents are being urged to help locate 77-year-old Ramon Contreras, who has been missing since Aug. 25 and lives with dementia. Police say he was last seen near Erie Street and may gravitate toward the South District around Armstrong Avenue. Anyone who spots him or has information is asked to call local detectives immediately.

Jersey City Police Arrest 3 Women, Recover 2 Guns In Drug Bust (patch.com) — Residents in Jersey City may notice an increased police presence after the Street Crimes Unit arrested three local women on Storms Avenue and recovered two illegal guns, hollow-point ammunition, and suspected crack cocaine and heroin. City leaders say the operation reflects ongoing efforts to get illegal firearms and drugs off neighborhood streets, and they're urging residents to keep reporting suspicious activity to help prevent future violence.
   

3. ICE Agent And Suspect Both Struck In Hit-And-Run In Jersey City: Officials (patch.com) — A foot chase by federal immigration agents in Jersey City ended when both an ICE officer and the man being pursued were struck by a car, suffering minor injuries, according to city officials. Mayor James Solomon's administration emphasized that local police only handled the accident report and reiterated strong opposition to ICE operations they say endanger residents, echoing broader local activism and statewide criticism of immigration detention practices.
   

4. 2 Victims Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Trains In Jersey City, Plainfield (patch.com) — NJ Transit reports a person was fatally struck by a Hudson Bergen Light Rail train near Newport Station in downtown Jersey City early Friday, briefly suspending service before it resumed. Another fatality occurred about 40 minutes earlier on the Raritan Valley Line near Plainfield, with no injuries to passengers or crew in either incident as NJ Transit police investigate.
   

5. Jersey City Nonprofits Awarded $2M in Celebration of Newport's 40th (njbmagazine.com) — Jersey City nonprofits are receiving a major boost, with $2 million in grants awarded to 40 local organizations as part of Newport's 40th anniversary and a pledge to give $1 million annually for five more years. Groups focused on housing, youth, arts, anti-violence, and the environment—like Garden State Community Development and Team Wilderness—will share in a total of $7 million supporting residents citywide.
