Saint Dominic Academy Announces 29th Annual Spring Thaw 5K to Support Student-Athletes

Jersey City, NJ – Saint Dominic Academy (SDA) announces its 29th Annual Spring Thaw 5K, a longstanding tradition supporting SDA’s student-athletes.

Founded three decades ago by former Athletic Director John E. Nagel, the Spring Thaw 5K celebrates community, fitness, and school spirit while raising funds for the athletic program.

Proceeds will provide upgraded equipment, travel, and expanded athletic programs for Blue Devils student-athletes.

The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and experience levels. Participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt with registration while supplies last.

“The 29th Annual Spring Thaw 5K is more than just a race, it’s a celebration of the Saint Dominic Academy spirit,” said Athletic Director Brian Callahan. “Whether you’re an alumna returning to your roots or a friend of the program, every step you take directly fuels the future of our student-athletes. Let’s run, reconnect, and rise together!”

Bib and t-shirt pick-up begins at 12:00 p.m. on race day.
