Haines Street To Close Overnight As Road Project Enters Next Phase

Haines Street will be closed overnight at Route 9 and Manchester Avenue during Phase 2 of the road project.

LACEY, NJ — Overnight road work is set to begin on Haines Street as the next phase of the Haines Street Road Improvement Project moves forward on Aug. 12 and Aug. 13.

According to the traffic notice, work will run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on both nights. During that time, Haines Street will be under a full road closure at its opposing intersections with Route 9 and Manchester Avenue.

The notice states that road closures are expected to be in place by 7 p.m. and will continue through the overnight hours. It also says Haines Street will have traffic limited to local traffic only while the work is underway.

Residents and other motorists are being urged to expect delays during the work period and to allow extra travel time. The notice also advises drivers to consider alternate routes, particularly during the overnight closure window.

The notice asks drivers to slow down and obey all posted traffic control devices. It also tells motorists to follow directions from police officers and traffic flaggers and to use extreme caution when traveling in and around the work zone.

“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed safely and efficiently to improve our community’s infrastructure,” the notice said.
