Local Moms Hitting The Field To Raise Health Awareness In South Jersey
This is the third annual Powder Puff game.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Teams of local moms are readying to take the field on Saturday for a football matchup for a good cause.
The 3rd Annual Mount Laurel Moms Powder Puff Football Game is played each year to raise awareness for breast cancer, suicide prevention, and other mental health initiatives.
"Sometimes joy, movement, and being surrounded by people who care can open the door to meaningful conversations," Marie Sanders, one of the event's organizers, told Patch. "I want everyone to leave knowing they belong and their presence matters."

The teams of women are made up of moms of players in the Mount Laurel Youth Football League.
Families and spectators are invited to Memorial Field from 9 to 10 a.m. to cheer the teams on and be a part of supporting the nonprofit, "Mentoring Strong Minds."

The organization uses sports, music, mentorship, and emotional restoration to advance mental health.
"My favorite part is watching women surprise themselves," said Sanders. "As a football mama, I love the game, but seeing those friendships and that confidence grow is what makes this special."

Sponsors and donors who are looking to support the cause on Saturday and beyond can do so by making a payment through Venmo with the note "Powder Puff" to @Marie-Sanders-12.
