Owners say New York's friendlier laws and tax credits make their upcoming move to Kingston essential, even as they praise Newark's unique cultural energy and acknowledge the loss for local visitors and jobs.
   

• Newark mayor's suit against feds tossed — but there's still one way to save it (nj.com subscription) — Newark residents should know that Mayor Ras Baraka's federal lawsuit over his 2025 arrest outside Delaney Hall has been dismissed, though a judge gave him 21 days to refile an amended complaint. The case stems from a tense protest at the Newark immigrant detention center and ties into separate federal charges against Rep. LaMonica McIver related to the same confrontation.
