Newark Airport flights resume after NJ Transit crew cuts cable (wobm.com) — If you're flying in or out of Newark, operations are back to normal after a severed fiber-optic cable halted most flights for much of Monday and caused dozens of cancellations. NJ Transit says a construction crew cut a key backup line, but repairs are complete and regional airports, including Newark Liberty, have resumed regular schedules.
   

2. Fire tears through several homes in East Newark; more than a dozen families displaced (abc7ny.com) — A four-alarm fire in neighboring East Newark damaged at least five buildings, displaced roughly 18 families, and sent one person to the hospital, with Newark firefighters among several departments responding. Power outages, heavy smoke, and fast-moving flames left many residents with only the clothes they were wearing, while the Red Cross set up a reception center and is still assessing who needs help.
   

3. Gospel music artist, BEULAH GREAT celebrates 40th birthday with album launch in Newark, New Jersey, USA (globalpatriotnews.com) — A Nigeria-born gospel artist is marking her 40th birthday with a free Thanksgiving concert and album launch in Newark on Friday evening, with festivities actually held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church Hall in nearby Irvington. Newark-area residents are invited to join the worship-themed celebration, hear songs from the new album "Gratitude," and share in a night of praise and thanksgiving.
   

4. US Northeast Braces for Flooding as Coastal Storm Brews (claimsjournal.com) — A developing coastal storm could bring heavy rain, coastal flooding, and strong winds to areas from just south of Newark down to Virginia Beach this weekend, with advisories likely expanding north. Newark-area residents should prepare for potential flooding, power outages, and travel delays, especially as winds strengthen and rainfall increases Friday into the weekend.
