Take A Trolley Tour Through This Historic Essex County Neighborhood

NEWARK, NJ — A free, guided trolley bus tour will highlight some stunning architecture and colorful personalities in New Jersey’s largest city this autumn.

Newark’s historic Forest Hill district is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey Register of Historic Places, boasting over 100 architecturally significant “key” homes within its 57-block area. The neighborhood also shoulders the Olmstead-inspired Branch Brook Park and sits near the monumental Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

Explore Newark Tours founder and neighborhood resident Tim Hoey will take visitors on a trip through the neighborhood aboard a trolley bus on two Saturdays in October: Oct. 3 and Oct. 24. Tour times take place from 10 a.m. to noon, or from 1 to 3 p.m.
