1. Optimum Mobile owes me a $220 refund, customer says. Where is her money? (lehighvalleylive.com) — A New Brunswick woman spent nearly two months fighting Optimum Mobile to get a $220 refund after she refused delivery of a replacement phone. Instead of a simple card credit, she was bounced between departments, sent a prepaid debit card, and then struggled to activate and transfer the funds. After media intervention, Optimum helped move the money toward her checking account, offering an apology for the inconvenience.
   

2. U. professor, Cancer Institute member receives grant to study gut bacteria, cancer (dailytargum.com) — A Rutgers Cancer Institute researcher based at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick has secured a $3.5 million federal grant to study how gut bacteria may help predict breast cancer. Using samples from thousands of nurses, the project could eventually lead to microbiome-based strategies to lower cancer risk, potentially influencing care and prevention efforts tied to New Brunswick's major medical hub.

RUSA names new Senate lead, hosts guest speaker to discuss hazing (dailytargum.com) — Rutgers students in New Brunswick saw new leadership chosen for the School of Arts and Sciences Senate and heard a detailed presentation on recognizing and preventing hazing. The Rutgers University Student Assembly also prepared for Homecoming bed races on Morrell Street, planned future guest speakers and discussed ongoing efforts to make campus safer and more supportive, including sanctuary campus concerns raised by the People Power Coalition.
   

4. Rutgers University leftist student coalition marches against ICE (thecollegefix.com) — Progressive Rutgers groups pushing for a sanctuary campus say their months-long campaign aims to protect undocumented students and families living in New Brunswick from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. After administrators allegedly canceled a key meeting, organizers marched and rallied, criticizing the University's response and demanding firm non-cooperation with ICE and stronger protections for vulnerable students while sharing stories of families affected by immigration enforcement.
