📰 News we're reading
1. Nor'easter takes a toll over long weekend ‣ Ocean City Sentinel (ocnjsentinel.com) — Ocean City saw some of its highest tidal flooding in a decade during last weekend's nor'easter, but new dunes, pumping stations, and storm trucks helped prevent more serious damage and kept evacuation routes open. Local officials describe beach erosion, bridge closures, disabled vehicles, and even lithium-battery fire risks, while also outlining cleanup efforts and expanded hours at the Shelter Road Recycling Center for storm debris drop-off.

2. Ocean City Council Shares Wonderland Update (patch.com) — Ocean City officials say a partial cinder block wall collapse at 600 Boardwalk prompted an unsafe-structure notice and a required engineer's report, though the issue is limited to a rear area beneath a deck. During the same council meeting, leaders stressed they're negotiating the future of the former Wonderland site with a firm stance against condos or alcohol sales, promising a family-friendly plan with public input.

3. Seaspray condo demolition begins in Ocean City, NJ (nbcnewyork.com) — Demolition of the long-troubled Seaspray condo complex at Ocean City's 34th Street gateway is finally underway, making room for a new 43‑unit development called The Drift at Salt Meadows. City leaders say the upscale project is part of a broader push to beautify the entrance into town, though some former residents feel mixed emotions after being forced out when the building was deemed unsafe.
