• Boardwalk Store Catches Fire In Ocean City: Officials (patch.com) — Ocean City firefighters knocked down a stubborn Boardwalk storefront fire on Aug. 20 after smoke was reported in the 1100 block and conditions escalated to a working fire. Crews opened ceilings and upper floors in the early-1900s structure, recalled off-duty personnel, and brought in mutual aid to protect the island. Everyone was evacuated safely, no injuries were reported, and the county fire marshal is investigating the cause.
