He was charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.
Elmwood Park Police Chief Michael Foligno told Patch that Fedorisin has been suspended without pay.
"The matter is being handled by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, and criminal charges have been filed," Foligno said. "As a result, he has been suspended without pay from his employment with the Borough. No administrative investigation will be initiated until the criminal matter has been adjudicated."
Foligno said Fedorisin was a part-time deputy OEM coordinator on behalf of the Fire Department "in a very limited capacity."
Fedorisin was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said Thursday.
