Victim In Fatal Elmwood Park House Fire Identified
A second person in the house suffered burn injuries, prosecutors said.
ELMWOOD PARK, NJ — A man who died in a fire in Elmwood Park on Friday has been identified.
The victim was Shawn Torres, 59, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.
Just after 2 p.m. Friday, Elmwood Park police and firefighters headed to a Market Street home on a report of a fire. They found a man inside. He was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries, prosecutors said.

A woman was able to escape, but had burn injuries, prosecutors said.
Detectives and arson investigators from the Prosecutor's Office responded to the scene. They have determined that the fire was not suspicious in nature, prosecutors said.
