Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Bergen County: Police
A woman died after being struck by a car in Bergen County and taken by helicopter to the hospital, police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A woman who was hit by a car on Thursday morning has died, the Northvale police said on Friday night.
According to police, the woman was walking near the intersection of Clinton and West avenues around 11:20 a.m. Thursday when a driver struck her.
Police gave first aid to the victim, a 66-year-old woman from Northvale.

The driver, a 51-year-old man from North Brunswick, remained at the scene and cooperated with police, they said.
Police requested a medical helicopter due to the severity of the trauma. She was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center.

She died that night, police said in a social media post.
The incident remains under investigation, and police were not releasing names as of their post on Friday night.
"The Northvale Police Department offers its sincere condolences to the family members of the victim during this difficult time," said Police Chief Howard Ostrow.
