Many Roads Flooded, Closed In Secaucus Saturday Morning

SECAUCUS, NJ — As of 11 a.m. Saturday, several parts of Meadowlands Parkway — one of the main roads in and out of town — are flooded and impassable.

Meadowlands Parkway north at the Krauszer's headed towards Rt. 3 is flooded and closed to drivers.

And one of the most serious road closures is Rt. 3 east at Meadowlands Parkway. It is basically impossible to use Meadowlands Parkway to get in and out of Secaucus.

From Secaucus Police, the following roads are closed as of 10 a.m. Saturday:

• Meadowlands Parkway/10th Street
• Rt. 3 East Meadowlands Parkway
• Meadowlands Parkway/Cove Court northbound
• Meadowlands Parkway/Wood Ave

More than 21,000 New Jersey residents lost electricity Saturday morning as the heavily anticipated nor’easter made its presence known in the Garden State.

And according to forecasters, the worst is yet to come: Forecasters say the slow-moving storm is expected to peak Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The latest briefing from the National Weather Service says more rounds of rain and storm force winds will increase in severity into Saturday overnight.

“If the storm tracks close to our coast, significant coastal and marine impacts may continue into Sunday along with rain and wind," said the National Weather Service.
