(realtytoday.com) — A recent diesel spill at Equinix's NY2 data center in Secaucus sent more than 5,000 gallons of fuel into Anderson Creek but, according to state officials, was contained before reaching the Hackensack River or affecting wildlife or drinking water. Local and state agencies, along with a remediation firm, are still on site, and the incident is already fueling wider debates over data centers and environmental risks in New Jersey.
   

• Portal Bridge Replacement Will Disrupt NJ Transit for 5 Weeks This Fall (nytimes.com) — Secaucus commuters face five weeks of reduced NJ Transit service between Newark and Secaucus starting Oct. 11 as trains are shifted to complete the Portal Bridge replacement. About half of weekday trips on that segment will be cut or rerouted through Hoboken, with normal schedules expected to resume by mid-November once all traffic moves to the new Portal North Bridge.
