NAMM Foundation Names South Brunswick District Among Best For Music Education

The national designation recognizes districts that provide equitable access to music instruction as part of a well-rounded education.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick School District has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation, a national recognition honoring school districts that demonstrate outstanding commitment to music instruction and access.

The award, presented by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation, is now in its 27th year and is given to districts across the country that provide students with meaningful, equitable access to music as part of a well-rounded education.

More than 1,000 public, private, charter and parochial schools nationwide received the designation this year.

"We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition," said Robert Sears, K-12 Supervisor of Music. "This award is a reflection of the heart of our performing arts program — our students, our teachers, our families, and the South Brunswick community. We believe in the power of music to shape lives, bring people together, and inspire creativity. Our commitment to music education runs deep, and we are grateful to be part of a district where the performing arts are truly valued and supported."

To qualify for the designation, South Brunswick completed an in-depth application covering program funding, student participation rates, music instruction time, facilities and community involvement. Responses were verified by school officials and independently reviewed by WolfBrown, an arts education research and evaluation firm.
