Springfield Halloween Spooktacular Brings Costume Contest, Family Fun To Fallapalooza (patch.com) — Families in Springfield can look forward to a Halloween Spooktacular during this year's Fallapalooza, set for Sunday, Oct. 18 in the parking lot across from the Springfield Free Public Library. Kids can enjoy music, games, pumpkin painting, a maze, an escape room truck, and a costume contest with pre-registration available online, with Oct. 25 reserved as a rain date.

Township Committee – Special Meeting – Monday, October 5, 2026 at 6 (springfieldpatriot.com) — Springfield residents have a special Township Committee meeting coming up on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Springfield Fire Department on Mountain Avenue. 3. Cranford Artist Takes Best of Show as 13 Union County Seniors Earn Statewide Art Awards (rlsmedia.com) — Springfield's own Kathryn Keller earned third place in the professional craft category at the 60th annual New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show, joining 12 other honored Union County artists. Local seniors' work, including Keller's, is showcased in a statewide exhibit in East Windsor through November 4, offering residents a chance to see the creativity of older neighbors from Springfield and beyond.
   

4. Lawsuit Alleges State Senator Raj Mukherji of Shady Dispensary Deal (headynj.com) — A lawsuit filed in Union County Superior Court alleges that a planned Story Dispensary in Springfield was used in a complex scheme that sidelined its majority-on-paper owner while politically connected partners benefited. The complaint details how Springfield's now-closed dispensary location, and its mayor's ties to state cannabis regulators, fit into a broader web of disputed cannabis deals across New Jersey.
