NJ Crossing Guard Killed, 2 Children Injured After Car Hits Them
The 80-year-old woman was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A crossing guard is dead, and the two children she was helping across the street are hospitalized after a crash in Passaic County, officials say.
On Monday around 3:30 p.m., police were called to McBride and Lackawanna avenues in Woodland Park on reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
Authorities discovered that an 80-year-old crossing guard, from Woodland Park, and two children were hit by a car at a crosswalk, police said.

The crossing guard was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
The two children were also sent to the hospital and were in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, officials added.

The driver remained on the scene of the crash, and no criminal charges have been announced at this time.
