North Jersey Man Met NY Teen For Sex, Police Say
The two met on a popular social media app, according to authorities.
PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man was arrested in New York this week after meeting a teenage girl for sex, according to New York State Police.
Joseph D. Hand, 20, of West Milford, faces several charges after having sexual contact with a 15-year-old, police say.
The investigation launched on Monday when the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Rhinebeck was tipped off about a possible sex offense involving an underage girl at a home in the Town of Red Hook, NY.

Investigators discovered that the two had met on Snapchat, and that Hand had traveled to the girl's home and had sexual contact with her, authorities said.
Hand was arrested and charged with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released under the supervision of probation and is expected back in Red Hook on July 23 for court proceedings.
