She Ran Over And Killed Her Girlfriend, Then Tried To Hide The Car In NJ: Jury

MILLVILLE, NJ — A woman was found guilty of using a car to intentionally hit and kill her girlfriend in 2024, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said.
Breanna Rowley, 24, of Vineland, also left the scene of the crash that killed Caroline Bump, who was 21, and also from Millville.
On Oct. 21, 2024, at around 11:15 p.m., Rowley was driving near 701 Glenside Rd. when she purposely crashed into Bump while she was standing in the road, prosecutors said.

The two women were dating at the time.
Rowley stopped the car after driving around 100 yards down the road. She got out, walked towards the area where Bump was hit, and then got back into her car and drove away without ever seeking help.

Her body was found after around two and a half hours by another driver.
After hitting Bump, Rowley drove her damaged car to a home in Monroeville (Salem County) and hid it in a farm field, officials said.
She tried to have the car repaired before authorities found the car on Oct. 24, 2024.
After a two-week trial, Rowley was found guilty by a jury Friday on charges of first-degree homicide, second-degree vehicular homicide, second-degree leaving the scene of an accident causing death of another, third-degree endangering and injured victim, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth-degree obstruction the administration of law, third-degree hindering apprehension, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 5, 2026. Rowley faces a minimum of 30 years in jail, with a mandatory 30-year period of parole ineligibility, up to a maximum of a life term.
