New Bagel Shop To Host Grand Opening In Westfield (patch.com) — Westfield residents will soon have a new spot for hand-rolled, water-boiled bagels when Bagel Cafe NJ opens its third location on North Avenue East in mid-September. The shop, across from Walgreens in the former Supercuts space, will feature craft coffee from a local roaster, small-batch Brooklyn pastries, and lunch sandwiches made with its old-world bagel recipe.

Man Falls Off Roof, Impaled By Metal Railing In Westfield (patch.com) — A 24-year-old Westfield roofing contractor is recovering in the hospital after falling from a roof on Wychwood Road and being impaled by a metal staircase railing, prompting a rapid response from Westfield police and firefighters. While online tools and parent portals were down, emergency systems stayed operational, and the superintendent said staff adapted to keep students focused and promised families an update as repairs continued.

'The Whisper Man' showcases 22 New Jersey locations (njbiz.com) — A new Netflix thriller, "The Whisper Man," quietly turned several Westfield spots, including a private home and Wilson Elementary School, into key backdrops for its fictional New Jersey town. Filmed across 22 Garden State locations, the production brought big-name stars, local buzz, and fresh attention to Union County neighborhoods just as New Jersey's film industry rapidly expands.
