Westfield Schools Say High School Staff Back Online After Tech Disruption (patch.com) — Westfield families are seeing progress as Westfield High School staff regain online access following a two-week technology disruption across the district. Superintendent Raymond Gonzalez says systems like clocks, bells and PA are working again, while tech teams methodically restore access for intermediate and elementary staff and students, with outside cybersecurity experts still investigating the cause.
   

2. Multiple DWI, Warrant Arrests Reported In Westfield (patch.com) — Westfield residents are being alerted to several recent police incidents, including multiple DWI arrests, an alleged shoplifting of household items on East North Avenue, and a fraud case involving vehicles registered to a local address. The blotter details when and where each incident occurred, highlighting arrests of both local residents and out-of-town drivers on Westfield streets and near the train station.
   

3. Westfield Marching Band's Shako Day Fundraiser Returns Downtown (patch.com) — Westfield residents can support the high school marching band during Shako Day, returning downtown Sept. 18 and 19 with students collecting donations in their signature hats. Volunteers will be stationed around central streets, and anyone who can't stop by can still contribute through the band's Venmo account, helping fund equipment, travel, and other marching-season needs.
   

4. Stop & Shop closing Westfield, Basking Ridge stores (nj.com subscription) — Stop & Shop will permanently close its Westfield supermarket at 219 Elm Street on October 22, a change that will affect many local shoppers and employees. The company says workers can transfer to other locations and stresses this is not part of a broader closure plan, though another New Jersey store in Basking Ridge will also shut down a week later.
