5. Bernalillo football rallies past Albuquerque Academy on fumble return TD (abqjournal.com subscription) — Bernalillo High School's defense stunned visiting Albuquerque Academy with a late fumble return touchdown, sealing a 12–7 home win Friday night. The game featured big plays from Albuquerque Academy's passing attack but ultimately highlighted Bernalillo's gritty "Goon Squad" defense, which forced two crucial late turnovers to hand the Chargers their first loss of the season.
