• Fleeing suspect crosses bridge and causes major wreck on I-84 (midhudsonnews.com) — A head-on collision on I-84 just east of Route 9D seriously injured a pickup driver and drew a major response from Beacon Volunteer Ambulance, local fire departments, and State Police. The wreck followed a terminated police pursuit across the Newburgh‑Beacon Bridge and triggered a 45‑minute search through nearby Beacon-area neighborhoods before the fleeing driver was found hiding along the highway.
