• Golden's Bridge Firehouse Annual Community Day Will Offer A Glimpse Of Behind The Curtains (patch.com) — Families in Bedford and nearby Golden's Bridge are invited to the fire department's 10th annual Community Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring firefighter demos, safety education and plenty of free kid-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy fire truck rides, live rescue and fire demonstrations, and food prepared by the firehouse culinary team, while learning practical fire prevention tips during National Fire Prevention Month.

• Before the Glass House: Philip Johnson's Booth House Lives On (archilovers.com) — A significant Philip Johnson home in Bedford the 1946 Booth House, is being restored by architect Drew Lang and builder Ravi Arps while preserving its original character. Their new firm, R&D, plans to modernize the house without losing its connection to the wooded Bedford landscape, then return it to the market as a livable piece of architectural history.
