Prosecutors say his son has been indicted on a second-degree murder charge, while family and friends remember Brown as a gentle, thoughtful mentor devoted to helping others. 
• Port Jefferson marks 25 years since the 9/11 tragedy (tbrnewsmedia.com) — A 9/11 remembrance ceremony in Port Jefferson honored local heroes, including NYPD detective Joseph Vincent Vigiano, who lived in Deer Park and died rescuing people in the North Tower. Community leaders, clergy, and residents gathered at Harborfront Park to dedicate a restored memorial eagle and reflect on courage, sacrifice, and unity 25 years after the attacks.
