Serious Damage After Gas Station Engulfed In Flames Sunday Night On Jericho Turnpike: NCFM
Fire marshals say about 75 firefighters battled a massive 2nd-alarm blaze at a BP service station.
GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — A Garden City Park gas station went up in flames on Sunday night, fire marshals said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said that Garden City Park FD responded to BP Gas and Service Station on Jericho Turnpike.
When firefighters arrived, they found the service station fully engulfed in flames, with multiple garage bays and at least one car on fire, fire marshals said.

According to fire marshals, there was serious damage to the building, but no injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control in less than an hour with approximately 75 firefighters on scene, fire marshals said.

NCFM Investigators and NCPD Arson/Bomb detectives were on scene – the cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire marshals said. The NCFM Hazardous Materials Response Team and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation were on scene to evaluate runoff and help reduce environmental impact, fire marshals said.
Mutual aid assistance was received from Garden City, Mineola, New Hyde Park, Westbury, Floral Park, Stewart Manor, Franklin Square & Munson, Roslyn Highlands, Roslyn Rescue, East Williston, Great Neck Vigilant, Elmont, South Floral Park fire departments — all under the command of Chief McGillicuddy, fire marshals said.
