Police Searching For Man In East Garden City's Dick's Sporting Goods Theft: PD

A man was accused of taking clothing, roller blades, and a workout bench before fleeing the store, NCPD says.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — Nassau County police are seeking the public's help with information regarding a grand larceny that occurred at Dicks Sporting Goods in East Garden City on Saturday, April 11.

According to police, an unknown man entered the store on Old Country Road and took multiple clothing items off shelves and left the store without paying for the merchandise at approximately 8:18 p.m.

The man then came back into the store with a hand truck and removed two boxes containing roller blades and a workout bench, then exited the store without paying – he fled in an unknown direction, NCPD said.

He had black hair and a full beard, and was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black and orange shoes, and a black hat, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives request anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
