Halloween House Returns To LI At New Greenlawn Location (patch.com) — Families in Huntington can check out the newly relocated Halloween House Long Island at 777 Pulaski Road in Greenlawn, offering themed rooms, games and photo ops without jump scares or gore. Throughout October, the attraction will host special themed days like Taylor Swift Day, Shrek Day and Knicks Night, with chances to win tickets, gift cards and other prizes.

2. Huntington Town Board schedules special meeting Friday on the 2027 budget (newsday.com) — Huntington residents should know the Town Board meets Friday morning for a special session where the tentative 2027 budget will be formally presented, potentially including about a $25 monthly tax increase for the average homeowner. The public can attend, view the proposal online afterward, and later weigh in at a Nov. 5 hearing before final approval in November.

3. Kings Park Resident Named Chief Nursing Officer At Huntington Hospital (patch.com) — Huntington residents will see a new nursing leader at Huntington Hospital, as longtime Northwell Health nurse Patrick T. Socias becomes vice president and chief nursing officer. Socias, a Kings Park resident, brings extensive cardiac and operations experience and says serving the community where he lives is especially meaningful. He plans to focus on quality, patient flow, and data-driven care improvements.

Caumsett Schedules Programs for October (huntingtonnow.com) — Families in Huntington can sign up now for several guided walks and a history bike tour at Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve throughout October, with modest per-person fees and a parking charge. Programs range from a longer seashore hike to shorter fall strolls and a family-friendly bike tour, and all require advance reservations by phone or via Eventbrite.

Local Event: Glimmers & Ink: A Healing Writing Workshop with Author Janna "JT" Tusa (patch.com) — Huntington writers and creatives can join a three-part Glimmers & Ink workshop series at Published on Green Street, focused on healing, resilience, and reflection through poetry and journaling. Led by local author Janna "JT" Tusa, the Saturday morning sessions include guided writing, community connection, and complimentary coffee, journal, and pen. Registration is required for the $150 three-session package.
