Huntington Station Deli Hit With 12 Health Code Violations: Police (patch.com) — Residents in Huntington Station may want to know that Las Lajas Deli on Depot Road was cited after a multi-agency inspection uncovered a dozen health code violations and other issues. The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal issued multiple violations and a criminal summons, and both town and county authorities plan further investigations into the business.
   

2. Man Struck On LIE After Getting Out Of Car; Driver Charged: Police (patch.com) — Drivers in the Huntington area should be aware that a serious crash on the Long Island Expressway in Melville left one man badly hurt after he exited his car in the HOV lane. Police say the other driver and his passenger were later charged with drug-related offenses, and both are awaiting court proceedings.
   

3. Halloween party is coming to The Paramount in Huntington with DJ Theo Pisani (newsday.com) — Huntington's Paramount will host a high-energy Halloween "Haunted House" party on Saturday, Oct. 31, with Long Island DJ Theo Pisani spinning for a 21+ crowd. Expect neon-costumed dancers, immersive visuals, a creative costume contest, and themed tracks like "Thriller," with tickets ranging from $37.50 to $65 and presale access using password THEO.
   

4. Huntington Animal Shelter Undergoing Renovations, Closed to Public (huntingtonnow.com) — Huntington's town animal shelter has temporarily closed to walk-in visitors for four to six weeks while it undergoes state-required renovations, though animal control services continue. Residents can still arrange adoptions or other visits by calling for appointments, and the adjacent Town of Huntington Cat Shelter remains fully open to the public.
   

5. Tax Cap, Melville Development, Park Contract on Huntington Town Board Agenda (huntingtonnow.com) — Huntington residents face potential tax increases as the Town Board considers overriding the state tax cap, a move officials say could prevent cuts to services like parades, camps, beaches and senior programs. Tonight's agenda also covers Manor Farm Park's new operator, major Melville housing plans, traffic and noise code changes, sewer and landfill contracts, and upcoming local festivals and road adjustments.
