Abuser Choked Woman In Front Of Children At Hudson Valley Motel

The Kingston man was charged after a motel assault in the Town of Ulster left a victim unconscious, cops said.

ULSTER, NY — A Kingston man has been charged after Ulster police responded to a reported physical domestic incident at a motel in the Town of Ulster.

Members of the Ulster Police Department were called to the motel at about 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators said that during a domestic dispute, 36-year-old David A. Brown, of Kingston, choked the victim and rendered her unconscious while her young children were present.

Brown was charged with felony strangulation, as well as two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment.

The violence stemmed from what police described as a domestic dispute.

Brown was arraigned in the Town of Ulster Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail.
