Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Nor’easter Impacts; Major Weather Changes Ahead For Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The rainy weather pattern continues today in the Hudson Valley, but pleasant changes are in store starting Tuesday, according to meteorologists.

“Low pressure will continue to linger in the area through today, and with it, the rainfall will continue,” the National Weather Service predicts. “The system should depart the area tonight into Tuesday, with the rain finally coming to an end tonight.”

A hazardous weather outlook alert has been issued for southeast New York, including southern Westchester County, due to a coastal flood advisory in effect through mid-Monday afternoon. Minor flooding is possible near the waterfront and shoreline, including roads and low-lying areas.

“One to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline,” the advisory states.

Changes on the horizon

The National Weather Service predicts dry weather will finally return on Tuesday.

It will be mostly sunny on Tuesday and Wednesday with daytime high temperatures in the low to mid-70s.

On Thursday and Friday, sunshine continues, along with a warm-up, as high temperatures will reach the upper 70s or even 80 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The weekend brings nice weather for outdoor activities, forecasters predict.

Temperatures will drop back down into the upper 60s to around 70 for the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be partly sunny, though there is a 40 percent chance for showers in the Hudson Valley on Sunday, forecasters said.
