Nor'easter Storm Track Changes For Hudson Valley: Here's What That Means For Us

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Meteorologists are expecting a nor’easter will bring heavy rain and strong winds to the Hudson Valley this weekend, with recent models showing the storm tracking more to the west.

The National Weather Service on Thursday issued a wind advisory for southeast New York. It is in effect from 2 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. on Sunday.

Winds of 20 to 25 miles per hour are expected, with gusts of up to 55 miles per hour possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents are cautioned to secure objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, resulting in power outages.

The storm is expected to be much more severe to the east of the Hudson Valley, according to meteorologists.

However, the region is expected to experience both high winds and heavy rain.

The National Weather Service predicts rain will begin in the region late Friday, and continue Saturday and into Sunday and early Monday, followed by gradual clearing.
