Teen Pedestrian Struck By Sedan And Seriously Hurt In Mount Sinai: Police
The teen, who is from Mount Sinai, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police say.
MOUNT SINAI, NY — A motor vehicle crash left a teenage pedestrian seriously hurt in Mount Sinai early Thursday morning, Suffolk police said.
An 18-year-old from Mt. Sinai was driving a 2020 Acura westbound in the left lane on Route 25A, approaching
Chestnut Street, when it struck a 17-year-old, who was crossing the road, just before 1 a.m., according to police.
The 17-year-old, who is from Mount Sinai, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious
injuries, police said, adding that the 18-year-old, who is from Miller Place, was not hurt in the crash.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
The 6th squad of detectives is investigating, according to police.
