• Oceanside man indicted in DWI crash that killed 78-year-old woman in crosswalk (shorenewsnetwork.com) — In a case being prosecuted out of Mineola, Nassau County prosecutors say a 24-year-old Oceanside man was drunk and drug-impaired when his van fatally struck a 78-year-old woman in an Oceanside crosswalk. He has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and DWI charges, with toxicology tests allegedly showing a .15 blood alcohol level plus cocaine and marijuana in his system.
   

• Six Indicted After Nassau County Drug Trafficking Ring Operated Out Of Queens Apartment: DA (patch.com) — Mineola-based Nassau County prosecutors say a yearlong investigation uncovered a major fentanyl trafficking ring supplying multiple Nassau communities, leading to six indictments and large drug and cash seizures from a Queens apartment. Officials describe hundreds of alleged sales in places like Glen Cove, Merrick and Massapequa, and warn about fentanyl mixed with xylazine while calling for tougher state drug laws.
