7 Train Subway Service Resumes In NYC After Track Fire

NEW YORK CITY — No. 7 train service has now resumed between Manhattan and Queens after a partial suspension due to a track fire, the MTA said.

The track fire at the Grand Central-42 St station affected commuters during the morning rush on Wednesday.

During the suspension, trains were suspended in both directions between 34 St-Hudson Yards and Queensboro Plaza. Riders were forced to take other train lines to get between the two boroughs.

As of 10 a.m., the 7 line is running and making scheduled stops. The cause of the track fire has not been disclosed at this time.
