Long Island Bakeries With St. Joseph's Pastries For Lent
The pastry can be found in many bakeries year-round, but most often around Easter time.
LONG ISLAND, NY — With Ash Wednesday is behind us, and Lent is in full swing, it is that time again for just a little indulgence before Easter.
From March 15 to the 21st, Roman Catholics celebrate two important feasts to those of Irish and Italian descent — St. Patrick on March 17 and St. Joseph on March 19.
While St. Patrick's Day is known for green everything from bagels to beer, and black and green cookies, the patron saint of family protectors' day is known for St. Joseph's pastries.
