• Veterans kayak 22 miles across Long Island Sound to raise awareness about PTSD and suicide (news12.com) — A Patchogue resident, Jimmy Lavoie, joined about 30 veterans and first responders kayaking 22 miles across Long Island Sound to spotlight PTSD and veteran suicide. • Governor Hochul Announces the 2026 Statewide Partners for the CHARM Mural Initiative (ny.gov) — Patchogue residents can look forward to new public art, as Patchogue Center for the Arts was chosen as Long Island's CHARM mural partner in Governor Hochul's statewide initiative. The program will fund 40 murals across New York by October 2026, aiming to energize neighborhoods, support local artists, and turn everyday spaces like libraries, parks, and small businesses into vibrant cultural landmarks.
