• Firefighters rescue two pet dogs (midhudsonnews.com) — Peekskill firefighters quickly knocked down a basement fire on Paulding Street and rescued two trapped pet dogs, reuniting them safely with their family. Officials say a malfunctioning lithium-ion E-bike battery sparked the blaze, and crews used special containment equipment to safely remove the damaged battery parts to a hazardous materials recovery facility, with no injuries reported.
