2. Transcript: Mayor Mamdani Launches "Renew Crew" to Bring Faster Repairs and Better Parks to New Yorkers (nyc.gov) — Speaking from Dry Harbor Playground in Glendale, city leaders launched the new "Renew Crew," a 24-person team dedicated to fixing broken equipment and sprucing up parks, including work planned right away at a Queens playground. The mayor also highlighted major sewer investments in southeast Queens to combat flooding and fielded questions on US Open affordability, city-run groceries, the BQE rebuild, and Vision Zero safety efforts. NYPD searching for vandals who threw feces, motor oil at Queens synagogues (abc7ny.com) — Two synagogues in Queens were splattered with a mixture of motor oil and feces last month, and the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is now searching for the two suspects caught on camera. The vandalism targeted Young Israel of Jamaica Estates and Young Israel of Holliswood, where worshippers arrived to find the mess outside before services. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Mayor Mamdani and local officials outline major sewer overhauls, catch basin upgrades, and green infrastructure plans, while Council Member Phil Wong demands immediate cleanings, stricter utility oversight, and shifting hundreds of millions toward flood mitigation.
