Parolee Breaks Into Riverhead Business, Steals Cash: Police
He's facing a felony burglary charge, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was arrested Thursday after breaking into a Riverhead business and stealing cash, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the incident took place at about 4:55 a.m., when Richard Ambrose, 49,who had been living at Community Housing Innovations on West Main Street, broke into the Riverhead Multi-Service facility on West Main Street.
Patrol officers from the Riverhead Police Department responded to the scene and determined that he removed U.S. currency before fleeing the area, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to continue the investigation, police said.
At about 3:51 p.m. the same day, detectives arrested Ambrose; at the time of his arrest, Ambrose was on New York State parole on a burglary charge, police said.

Ambrose was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and was held for arraignment, police said.
