• URT tax settlement could cost Riverhead taxpayers $1.27M (riverheadlocal.com) — Riverhead officials have agreed to cut United Riverhead Terminal's property assessments by more than $6.6 million over seven years, a move expected to cost town taxpayers about $1.27 million in refunds or credits. The settlement, now filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court, follows earlier board votes that did not disclose the financial impact. County-issued refunds will be charged back to Riverhead taxpayers, and officials are exploring ways to spread out the hit.
   

• PBMC brings new high blood pressure treatment to the East End (timesreview.com) — Riverhead's Peconic Bay Medical Center is now offering renal denervation, a new minimally invasive option for patients whose high blood pressure isn't controlled by medication and lifestyle changes. The cardiology team has already completed three procedures at the Kanas Regional Heart Center, giving East End residents access to advanced cardiac care much closer to home.
   

• North Fork house of the week and real estate transfers: Aug. 19, 2026 (timesreview.com) — Several Riverhead properties, including homes on Sound Shore Road and Willow Pond Drive, changed hands in June, alongside a Main Road parcel sold to Suffolk County Water Authority. The roundup also highlights a high‑end Southold "house of the week" and numerous residential and vacant land transfers across the North Fork and Shelter Island.
