ICE Detention Secured For 4X Felony DWI Offender: DA (patch.com) — Riverhead readers are being told that a man with four prior felony DWI convictions was stopped by Suffolk County investigators while driving without a license near Main Street and then detained by federal immigration authorities. Prosecutors say they had previously sought to keep him jailed after his latest DWI conviction, and now plan to bring him back to Suffolk County for sentencing and the new charge.
   

2. Police Officer's Fast-Thinking Move Keeps Car From Slamming Into Crowd At Riverhead Polish Fest: PD (patch.com) — A quick-thinking Riverhead police officer used her patrol car to stop an erratic driver from reaching the crowded Riverhead Polish Festival area on Osborn Avenue Sunday morning, preventing potential injuries. The driver, a Riverhead resident, allegedly hit two parked cars, fled at high speed toward the pedestrian-only zone, and was later treated for minor injuries and charged with multiple offenses. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Riverhead Police Department.
   

3. Riverhead issues stop-work order for Aquebogue subdivision (riverheadlocal.com) — Riverhead Town has halted work at the proposed Summerwind Farms subdivision in Aquebogue after inspectors found land clearing and site preparation were done without required permits or final plat approval. Neighbors are demanding a full public accounting of what was cleared, who authorized it, and whether penalties or restoration will follow, while town officials promise tougher code enforcement for future development in Riverhead.
   

4.
