1. Blotter: Cops make 19 arrests; one man faces four charges (timesreview.com) — Riverhead Town police reported 19 arrests between Sept. 13 and 19, including local residents charged with alleged DWI, petit larceny, drug possession, trespass and code violations. Several others from nearby communities and out of state were picked up on warrants or traffic offenses, with all charges still pending and subject to reduction, withdrawal or acquittal.
   

2. Nor'easter topples trees, downs power lines and floods coastline (riverheadlocal.com) — A powerful nor'easter is knocking down trees, closing Middle Road between Mill Road and Osborn Avenue, and cutting power to hundreds of customers in and around Riverhead this morning. Highway crews have already cleared at least 25 fallen trees, coastal areas along the Peconic River are experiencing moderate flooding, and forecasters warn of continued rain, strong winds and hazardous marine conditions through tonight.
   

3. Riverhead real estate transfers reported Sept. 25, 2026 (riverheadlocal.com) — Recent real estate deals in Riverhead and nearby hamlets totaled nearly $9.9 million, including several home sales right in town and in Wading River, Baiting Hollow and Jamesport. Buyers, sellers and curious neighbors can see closing dates, prices and locations, including a Riverhead foreclosure sale and high-end Jamesport properties, to get a feel for current North Fork market activity.
   

4. October on Long Island: 30 Fall Events for 2026 (longisland.com) — October brings several chances to get out in Riverhead, including apple picking, a corn maze and pumpkin patch at Harbes Orchard on Sound Avenue, plus the Hallockville Country Fair with historic farm demonstrations and kids' activities. The broader guide also highlights festivals, races and Halloween outings across Long Island, so you can plan fall weekends both close to home and farther afield.
