📰 News we're reading

• Former Giants post-Week 3 check-in: Wan'Dale Robinson's revenge, Dane Belton shines (newsbreak.com) — A former New York Giants lineman from Rockville Centre, Greg Van Roten, has landed on injured reserve with the Patriots after years as an ironman who never missed a snap for Big Blue. The article checks in on several ex-Giants' Week 3 performances, from Wan'Dale Robinson's productive "revenge" game with the Titans to Dane Belton's strong play filling in at safety for the Jets.

• US bishops, women religious are leading fight against assisted suicide (angelusnews.com) — Rockville Centre Bishop John Barres is a key plaintiff in a federal lawsuit that has temporarily blocked New York from enforcing its new assisted-suicide law against several Catholic organizations. Alongside similar cases in Illinois, church leaders and religious sisters argue the rules would force Catholic hospitals and caregivers to promote or facilitate assisted suicide against their beliefs, potentially triggering fines or loss of licenses.
