Business Reports Theft of Goods Due to Bad Check (scarsdale10583.com) — Scarsdale police reported two arrests this week, including a bench-warrant pickup coordinated with Ardsley officers, along with a Harwood Court business losing merchandise to a bad check and a Mamaroneck Road resident falling victim to a $4,000 phone scam. Officers and firefighters also handled minor crashes, aggressive wildlife, code violations, gas odors, and assistance calls across village streets and the train station.
   

• Is Scarsdale's Paper Community Calendar Gone for Good? Residents Want It Back (scarsdale10583.com subscription) — Scarsdale's long-standing printed community calendar, once mailed to every household with school and village events, has been shifted to a digital-only format after a key sponsor was lost. PT Council leaders say the online version is greener and easier to update, but strong resident pushback has them reconsidering whether to revive the paper edition if new funding can be found.
   

• Launchers Win Back-to-Back Adult Softball Titles (scarsdale10583.com) — Scarsdale Recreation's adult softball season wrapped up with the Launchers securing back-to-back titles in the August 13 championship, edging the teenage Big Batters 12–7 in a tie-breaker game. The matchup followed a split doubleheader and capped a season where Claire Leone Real Estate captured the regular-season pennant, highlighting strong participation in the local league.
