3 Escape Injuries, 1 As Car Goes Into Street Sign And Tree In Shirley, Another Into A House In Coram: Police

SHIRLEY, NY — Two drivers remained miraculously unscathed in two separate crashes over the weekend, one in Shirley in which a street sign and a tree were struck on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

A 26-year-old Hampton Bays woman was driving a 2016 Nissan sedan northbound on William Floyd Parkway, when she lost control of the vehicle as she tried to turn left onto Flintlock Drive, according to police.

It struck a street sign and a tree just before 5 p.m., police said.

A 37-year-old Holbrook woman was driving a 2024 Kia sedan BE on Mooney Pond Road in Coram, when her vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into the side of a home at around 11:35 p.m., according to police.

In a third crash on Sunday, a 911 caller reported at 7:21 p.m. a crash involving an E-Bike and a motor vehicle, police said. No one was hurt.

No criminality is suspected to have been involved in any of the crashes.
