Long Island Son Fatally Knifes Dad On Labor Day Morning: Police
The dad called 911 at around 12:30 a.m., and when first responders arrived their attempts to save his life were in vain, Suffolk police say.
MASTIC, NY — A man fatally knifed his father inside his Mastic apartment early Labor Day morning, Suffolk police said.
It was one of two stabbing incidents over Labor Day weekend in the Mastic-Shirley area. A man stabbed another, and was arrested for assault on Sunday afternoon in Shirley.
Police say Edward Brown called 911 at around 12:30 a.m. and reported he had been stabbed in his apartment on Mastic Boulevard, and when officers and personnel from Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company responded, they tried life-saving measures, but he died at the scene.

A short time later, Brown’s son, Sage Arias-Brown, was cuffed, police said.
Homicide Squad detectives charged Arias-Brown, 33, of Lake Ronkonkoma, with second-degree murder, and he will be held
overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday, according to police.
