Man Seriously Hurt In 1-Vehicle Crash In Middle Island: Police

He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.

MIDDLE ISLAND, NY —Detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously hurt a man in front of Longwood Library in Middle Island on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

A 30-year-old Middle Island man was driving a 2026 Nissan Rogue eastbound on Middle Country Road when it crossed into the westbound lanes, left the roadway, and struck a telephone pole on Middle Country Road at around 9:20 p.m., according to police.

The man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
