Fire Injures 3 On Upper East Side, FDNY Says

Around 120 firefighters and medics responded to the blaze.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A fire in a Park Avenue apartment building injured three firefighters on Monday night, New York City Fire Department officials said.

According to the FDNY, the fire broke out at 1088 Park Ave., a 16-story apartment building between East 88th and East 89th streets, at around 8:18 p.m. Monday.

Around 120 firefighters and medics responded to the blaze, which was put out by 8:58 p.m., FDNY officials said.

Three firefighters sustained minor injuries during the fire and were taken to an area hospital, FDNY officials said.

The apartment was vacant when the fire started, FDNY officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
